Program Overview

High school girlsHigh school at Christian Heritage School consists of 9th through 12th grades.  The high school curriculum includes the core subjects (Math, History, Science, and English) as well as courses in Bible, Computer Science, Spanish, Speech, and P.E.  Electives include Latin, Greek, Drama, Art/Photography, Vocal Ensemble, and Yearbook. 

Students are given the opportunity to take pre-AP and AP courses in Math, English, and Science. The Math curriculum includes courses in Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Science offerings include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Astronomy.  High school history courses include U.S. History, World History, Economics, and Government.

The culmination of the high school education for students at Christian Heritage School is the completion of a senior thesis. "'The good man speaking well' is the essential aim of a classical Christ-centered education.  At no point in the curriculum is this goal more tangible than during the final year as students research, write, and defend their senior theses," Doris Riley, Thesis advisor.
 
Christian Heritage School is a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) and competes in the following sports:  Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Golf, Track, and Tennis.  Extracurricular activities also include an active student council, high school speech meets, and Longview Leadership Tomorrow.  Annual retreats, class trips, and mission trips add to the overall educational experience for high school students at Christian Heritage School.
